Energy generated from sunlight can be harnessed through two main methods, photovoltaic (PV) panels and solar thermal systems. Photovoltaic (PV) panels convert sunlight directly into electricity. These panels consist of solar cells made from semiconducting materials, such as silicon. When sunlight hits the solar cells, it excites the electrons within them, generating an electric current. This electricity can be used to power homes, businesses, or even be fed back into the grid for others to utilize.
The Head of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Ministry of Water and Energy, Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Kaleem Mansour and the accompanying technical team supervised the progress of the 10 megawatt solar power project of Naghlu in Sarubi district of Kabul province.
Based on the evaluations of this technical team, the work of the said project is going on in a standard and regular manner, and necessary recommendations were made to the officials of the project in order to improve the affairs and create the necessary coordination.
